The society identified and documented traditional crafts and craft practitioners in Historic Cairo and supported transmission through training and apprenticeship. Its wider work has documented hundreds of Egyptian crafts, while specific programmes have trained younger practitioners so endangered knowledge remains in use rather than existing only as an archive.
