Intergenerational Transmission of Traditional Pottery
Checca Pupuja Peasant Community
Checca Pupuja · Puno · Peru
Community master potters led 40 learning sessions for thirteen young potters, passing on modelling, decoration and firing techniques together with the history and meanings of the ceramics. The community also authored a bilingual Spanish–Quechua publication so its knowledge could continue to be shared.
